Offered is a 1938 Mel Ott game used bat, graded PSA GU 9, representing an elite example from the heart of this Hall of Famer’s prime years. According to the PSA Authentication population report, only 22 Mel Ott game used bats have been authenticated by PSA, underscoring the extreme scarcity of legitimate Ott lumber. With its exceptional grade, confirmed game use, and limited population, this bat stands among the most desirable artifacts from the 500 Home Run Club, as Ott remains one of the toughest members of that exclusive fraternity to acquire. Hall of Famer Mel Ott was one of the most prolific and consistent power hitters of baseball’s pre-war era, spending his entire 22-year Major League career with the New York Giants from 1926 through 1947. A 12-time All-Star, Ott finished his career with 511 home runs, becoming the first National League player to reach the 500-home run milestone. Known for his distinctive high leg kick and remarkable plate discipline, Ott led the National League in home runs six times, while helping anchor the Giants as perennial contenders. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1951, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest left-handed hitters the game has ever seen.
