Hall of Famer Mel Ott was one of the most prolific and consistent power hitters of baseball’s pre-war era, spending his entire 22-year Major League career with the New York Giants from 1926 through 1947. A 12-time All-Star, Ott finished his career with 511 home runs, becoming the first National League player to reach the 500-home run milestone. Known for his distinctive high leg kick and remarkable plate discipline, Ott led the National League in home runs six times, while helping anchor the Giants as perennial contenders.
