Dick Howser played 8 seasons in the majors taking the field for the Kansas City A's (1961-63), Cleveland Indians (1963-66), and New York Yankees ( 1967-68). Howser's rookie season saw him named to the 1961 All-Star team. Howser's best days in baseball came after his playing career as a coach and Manager with the New a York Yankees and Kansas City Royals. Howser Managed for 7 seasons never finishing worse than 2nd. Howser led the Kansas City Royals to a 1985 World Series Title the franchises only one as to date. Tragically Howser passed away June 17, 1987 due to a brain tumor at age 51. This bat dates to the 1961-63 seasons and shows nice use. A small hole for mounting exists in the center brand. Great bat from this former skipper and Royal favorite!!!
