Mike Torrez would be acquired by the Yankees early in the 1977 season in a trade for Dock Ellis, Larry Murray and Marty Perez. Torrez would win two games in the 1977 World Series for the World Champions Yankees, both of them complete game victories including catching the final out in game 7. He would also win 15 games for the Yankees and this would be his sixth straight 15 win season. Collar has Robson who did not make the Roster in 1976 so jersey was carried over to the following season. Torrez was acquired after the 1977 season started and was given this jersey number before giving it up the number to Dave Kingman.
