Gus Zernial was a slugger in the bigs for 10 years hitting the long ball for the Chicago White Sox (1949-51), Philadelphia/Kansas City A's (1951-57) and Detroit Tigers (1958-59). Zernial amassed 1,093 Hits, 237 Home Runs, and 776 RBI's over the course of his career. He was an All-Star in 1953 and led the Majors in homers and rbi's in 1953. This bat was used by Zernial during the 1956 season while a member of the Kansas City Athletics. 30+ of his 1956 A's teammates have added there signatures to this bat. Signatures include Gus Zernial, Clete Boyer, Vic Power, Hector Lopez, Art Dittmer, and others. This Bat was on display in the lounge at the Brookshire Hotel on Linwood in Kansas City Missouri. The Bat was given to the hotel by Bob Cerv and has a steel rod inserted for display purposes. Nice team signed bat!!!
