Roger Maris played for 12 seasons in the majors taking the field for the Cleveland Indians (1957-58), Kansas City A's (1958-59), New York Yankees (1960-66), and St.Louis Cardinals (1967-68). Maris was a 2x A.L. MVP but is best remembered for breaking Babe Ruth's single season home run record by slugging 61 in 1961. This gamer dates to the 1959 season while Maris was a member of the Kansas City A's. The bat shows outstanding use with rack marks, ball marks, and deep seam impressions. The handle has a slight crack and Maris's 1959 player number 3 rests on the knob. This stunning gamer displays wonderfully and has been graded 8.5 by PSA. Very attractive gamer from this popular slugger! This lot contains a reserve.
