Hall Of Fame pitcher Gaylord Perry sported this hat during the 1983 season while with the Kansas City Royals. The Royals were the last stop for Perry after toeing the rubber for 7 other teams during his 22 year career. Perry amassed 314 wins and struck out 3,534 batters during his career. Perry appeared in 14 games as a starter while he was wearing this jersey with the Royals. Perry is most remembered during his brief stint with the Royals for his roll in the famous Pine-Tar Incident in which he stole the bat that Brett used that day and hid it from the umpire. Seeing as Perry appeared in a limited number of games in 1983 this could well be the jersey that he was wearing on that highly eventful day!!! The jersey is tagged correctly and shows moderate wear. Perry has added his signature to the front of the jersry. Fantastic signed game used relic from this Hall Of Fame pitcher!!! Loa from from Crown Sports accompanies this lot for game use. JSA for autograph
