This lot features a Babe Ruth Association of Professional Ball Players of America membership card which provides the high bidder an extremely rare opportunity to own one of very few publicly available Babe Ruth personal items documented with "ironclad" provenance directly from the Ruth family. This original cardboard stock member card was issued by the noted organization granting Ruth membership effective 10/26/1938 after his final season as an active player. Card features typewritten name of "George H. "Babe" Ruth" on front and measures 2 1/2"x 4" with black scrapbook paper adhered to the verso (removable if so desired). The lot also includes the original mailing envelope as sent to Ruth along with an organizational manual from 1938. Both envelope and manual also have black scrapbook paper adhered to the reverse.
