Ryne Duren enjoyed a 10 year career in the majors, pitching for 7 different teams. "Blind Ryne" was perhaps the most feared reliever in all of baseball in late 1950's. His thick coke bottle glasses and 100+ MPH fastball made it difficult for batters to get very comfortable in the box. Opposing batters often said "You can't see his fastball and he can't see you!!!" Duren was named to 4 All-Star teams and also pitched for the 1958 World Series Champion Yankees. Duren posted a 1.93 ERA with 14 Strikeouts in 9.1 Innings in the 1958 Series. Duren was always a showman and part of the inspiration for fictional baseball player Rickey Vaughn in the movie "Major Leaugues". This bat was produced for a Kansas City Baseball Historical Society function and Duren has added his signature to the barrel. Nice signed piece.
