Certainly a name that will make you smile or cringe depending on which end of I-70 you reside Don Denkinger is certainly well remembered by St. Louis Cardinal and Kansas City Royals fans for "The Call". Although his controversial safe call of a Jorge Orta at first base during Game 6 of the 1985 World Series may be how Denkinger is best remembered it certainly is not how his career has been defined. Regarded as one of the A.L's most respected umps Denkinger is 1 of only 4 umps to be named crew chief for the ALCS 3 times. This bat was issued to Denkinger and certainly shows use. Interesting piece and certainly one of the few umpire issued bats that we have encountered. Certainly a must have piece for any Kansas City Royals collection!!!
