Knees. If there is a Jayhawk heaven Archie Marshall deserves 2 good ones. A valuable 6th man on KU's 1986 Final 4 run Marshall averaged 7.0 PPG to go with 3.8 RPG. Marshall injured his left knee in the 1986 Final 4 causing him to sit out the entire 1986-87 basketball season on a medical redshirt. Marshall's comeback lasted 11 games into the 1987-88 season before he injured his right knee effectively bringing his basketball career (Minus a hobbled 3-point attempt on senior night) to a close. This blue warm up dates to the mid-1980's while Marshall was a member of the KU basketball team. The inner tag bares the number 16 which can not be attributed to Marshall or any Kansas player during this time frame. It is certainly possible that Marshall wore this warm-up as unlike game jerseys warm-ups and practice items are often heavily recycled and sometimes internal tagged numbers do not match the number that the corresponding player wore. However it is impossible to say for sure. What is without doubt is the fact that Marshall has added his signature to an attractive warm up that was issued and worn by players during his tenure at the University of Kansas. Sharp display piece from this popular Jayhawk!!! LOA from jersey expert Dave Miedema accompanies this lot.
