Mariano Rivera's Hall of Fame career spanned 19 seasons, all with the New York Yankees. Rivera finished his career in a class by himself accumulating an All-Time record 652 career saves and becoming the FIRST player unanimously elected to the Hall of Fame. A 13x All-Star, Rivera often saved his best for the biggest stage thus helping the New York Yankees win 5 World Series titles while gathering an ALCS (2003) and World Series (1999) MVP award during his career. This stunning jersey dates to the 1996 season which found the Yankees almost 2 decades removed from there last World Series title (1978). With the help of a young shortstop (Jeter) and a big time bullpen (Rivera) that futility was all about to change with 13 Division Titles and 5 World Series Championships from 1996-2013. This beautiful gamer was worn by Rivera and photo matched to Game 4 of the ALCS. The jersey is tagged correctly and the sleeve is adorned with the 1996 World Series patch. The reverse of the jersey sports Rivera's feared number 42. A phenomenal game-used jersey from this legendary relief pitcher that has been 100% attributed to the 1996 ALCS, it was purchased directly from Yankee Stadium through the Yankees foundation. Included with this lot comes a copy of the original bill when the jersey was purchased. Fantastic, truly one-of-a-kind piece from the unquestioned greatest relief pitcher of all time!!!
