Ed Kirkpatrick played 16 seasons in the bigs taking the field for the California Angels (1962-68), Kansas City Royals (1969-73), Pittsburgh Pirates (1974-77), Texas Rangers (1977), and Milwaukee Brewers (1977). Kirkpatrick collected 824 hits, 85 Homers, and 424 RBI's during his career. In addition to helping 2 organizations get off the ground (Angels & Royals) Kirkpatrick was also an important component of the 1974 & 1975 N.L. East Champion Pittsburgh Pirates. . This Home Flannel was worn by Kirkpatrick during the 1972 season and shows light to moderate wear. 1972 was the last year that the Kansas City Royals wore flannels switching to knits at mid season. The jersey is all original and is appropriately tagged by Wilson in the front tail as well as exhibiting a strip tag in the collar reading "72-set 1". Very nice tough to find unaltered flannel from one of the Kansas City Royals early stars!
