Ken Johnson pitched 13 seasons in the bigs taking the mound for the Kansas City A's (1958-61), Cincinnati Reds (1961), Houston Colt .45's/Astros (1962-65), Atlanta Braves (1965-69), New York Yankees (1969), Chicago Cubs (1969), and Montreal Expos (1970). Johnson enjoyed his most productive years while with the Braves compiling 45 of his 91 career wins while in Atlanta. This jersey was worn by Johnson during the 1969 season in which he appeared in 9 games before being sold to the New York Yankees for the remainder of the season. The Braves team name across the chest as well as both the team logo and 1969 Anniversary patches that rest on the sleeves are original to the jersey. The number 20 that rests on the reverse is a number change as Johnson wore number 30 while with the Braves in 1969. The front of the jersey has be signed by Orlando Cepeda with the inscription "Game Used". Cepeda did wear the number 20 during the first few months of the 1969 season however we believe that Cepeda would have had his own jersey produced for him as opposed to wearing Johnson's recycled jersey. Despite this discrepancy this remains an attractive Atlanta Braves jersey from the 1969 season. The jersey shows moderate use and displays very nicely!
