On October 19th, 1924 baseball legend Babe Ruth and Yankee teammate Bob Meusel traveled to Seattle Washington to take part in an exhibition game. George Moore attended that exhibition game and was lucky enough to catch the 2nd of 3 homers that legendary slugger Babe Ruth hit that day. Following the game Mr. Moore elicited the help of his friend Royal Broughman ,who was a sportswriter employed by the "Seattle Post Intelligencer" , to help him obtain signatures on his newly acquired prize. Mr. Broughman came through in grand fashion and Moore was able to obtain the signatures of both Babe Ruth and Yankee teammate Bob Meusel. Ruth's and Meusel's signatures rest on opposite panels of this red and blue stitched American League baseball. Being a game used ball the presidential stampings have worn and are illegible.
Certainly a fantastic relic from baseball legend Babe Ruth. A letter of provenance from Mr. Moore's family as well as photos from the game accompany this lot. In addition autograph authentication from both PSA and JSA also accompany this lot. Great chance to not only place a tough signed baseball into your collection but also a Homer hit by the Sultan of Swat himself. This lot contains a reserve
