1956 Rogers Hornsby Mint 9 Signed and Inscribed Government Postcard
Presented here is a postcard signed by Rogers Hornsby, one of the best pure hitters to ever step onto a baseball diamond. The owner of the second highest career batting average in MLB history, Hornsby hit over .400 three times. A two-time Triple Crown winner, Hornsby was the rare second baseman that combined fielding acumen with prowess at the plate. A Hall of Fame inductee in the class of 1942, Hornsby remains one of the best infielders in baseball history.
The mercurial hitter has signed and inscribed this postcard, which is dated to 1956, in bold ballpoint pen. The reverse side is addressed to a “Jimmy Evans Fort Lauderdale, FL. This item has been encapsulated and graded a MINT 9 by PSA/DNA.
