Buzz Boyle played parts of 5 seasons in the majors which included a career best 1934 year with Brooklyn where he posted a .305 batting average over 128 games. Boyle wore this jersey during the 1940 season while he was with the Kansas City Blues of the American Association. Boyle would help the Blues post a 95-57 record which was the best in the American Association. Kansas City would go on to lose 2-4 to the Louisville Colonel in the "Little" World Series. This rarely seen gamer presents quite well. Made of heavy grey wool, Kansas City lies across the chest of the jersey and Boyle is stitched inside the jersey as player identifier. The number 5 on the reverse is a professional restoration that shows little to no evidence of the partial number 18 that had been there previously. The Centennial patch on the sleeve is period but was added at the time of restoration. Very attractive Kansas City Blues jersey that has been expertly restored to its original glory!!!
