Andy Van Slyke hit a fly ball to the warning track that settled into Right Fielder Darryl Motley's glove and the Kansas City Royals clinched there 1st World Series Championship. The 1985 World Series run was a special time for Kansas City Royals fans viewing thrilling come from behind victories from this never say die ball club. This lot contains not only the ball from that last out of the 1985 World Series but also the glove used to catch it. Former Kansas City Royal Darryl Motley has had this glove and ball combo in his possession ever since catching that long fly ball to seal the series. The Rawlings glove shows heavy use and even wear throughout. The ball shows definitive game use and has several notations written in Motley's hand covering the ball. Inscriptions include "Last Ball Caught In World Series 1985" and "Last Out KC. St.Louis". Fantastic historic relics from the 1985 World Series! LOA from Darryl Motley accompanies this lot.
