Bill Virdon enjoyed a productive 12 year playing career that included being named 1955 ROY, 1962 All-Star team selection, 1962 Gold Glove, and a World Series Championship with the 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates. After his playing career concluded Virdon transitioned into the coaching and managerial ranks posting a record of 995-921 as a skipper for several teams while being named Sporting News Manager of the Year twice (1974 & 1980). These game used pants and stirrups were worn by Virdon during the Pirates 1960 Championship season. The pants show solid use and are tagged by McGregor with a 1960 set 1 strip tag and Virdon's player number 18 with pants size stitch identifier. The stirrups have Virdon's player number 18 stitched in yellow. Nice tough to find grouping!!!
