Legendary groundskeeper George Toma wore this shirt during the 1958 season while he was employed by the Kansas City Athletics. Toma is the measure by which all other grounds keepers are measured!!! Toma spent most of his career working for the Kansas City A's, Royals, and Chiefs. In 1967 Toma was contracted to head the grounds crew at the first Super Bowl and has worked every Super Bowl since. Toma also supervised the grounds crew for both the 1984 and 1996 Olympics as well as the 1994 World Cup. Officially retired Toma continues to work as a consultant for sports facilities and their groundskeepers across the United States. This long sleeved button down shirt was worn by Toma during the 1958 season while he was employed by the Kansas City A's. The Athletics emblem adorns the back of the shirt and Toma has added his autograph directly below the emblem. This shirt is a true rare gem just like the man who wore it all those years ago!!! You will not see another of these!!! COA from Crown Sports accompanies this lot.
